Everest Restaurant

The first time we had takeout from Everest, it was phenomenal. Whoever made the chicken soup specifically as well as the other chicken dishes that day crafted them in an entirely delectable way; however, when we dined in at their establishment, it was an extremely different and disappointing experience. I’m familiar with other Indian/Nepalese restaurants and the off-putting flavors combined with small portions and implausible prices were nothing like what I expected. The miniature soup cups tasted diluted compared to last time, and it had different spices than before (which my entire table agreed made it inedible). The masala sauce had an abnormal red hue. The saag was putrid as if something was flawed with the spinach itself. They brought out one medium sized dish of rice for four people/entrees. When a friend and I had takeout prior, we were given a large portion of rice in a little to-go box for only two small entrees and some naan. The service was redeeming and our server was incredibly sweet, but every other aspect became too much to overlook. I’m surprised this place has such rave reviews given the extensive inconsistencies in portion size, quality, and seasonings. Change in regards to taste can be good, if not enriching, but the flavors were lacking in a major way when we dined in. It could’ve simply been an off day for them, but that doesn’t change the fact that their off days can result in such less than ideal dining experiences. We officially won’t be returning to what we thought and hoped was our new favorite spot for Indian/Nepalese cuisine. It’s unfortunate, but I genuinely recommend avoiding this restaurant. In fact, it’d be more fulfilling to find a different Indian/Nepalese restaurant nearby that will actually give you the proper servings of more appropriately priced food that you order.

I had a simple bowl of thukpa: tender wheat noodles with crunchy vegetables in a delicious, spicy broth soup! Kind of tangy and perfect for a cold day especially with a cup of chai! My husband and I come here when we went good Indian food. I love the little bursts of flavor from the Fresh spices they add. Their food is consistently good!

Amazing food and service! Discovered this place randomly and am so glad. The place is very cute and has nice decor. The servers were very welcoming and friendly. I decided to try the chai as it was described as authentic and I was curious. So glad, it was delicious! It also comes with a free refill, which I saved for dessert. I had the tikka masala and it was the best I've ever had. The sauce was so creamy and delicious. I got the rice pudding for dessert (along with my refill) and that was also delicious. I'm definitely coming back, I want to try everything on the menu!

Everest is my favorite restaurant. My partner and I have been coming to Everest for 12 years now. Lakshmi and her family have created a special place to which we love to bring our family and friends. We can't get enough of the pillowy naan, perfectly spiced chai, the home-y atmosphere, and the many other delicious classic Nepalese and Indian dishes we have eaten over the years.

We love the always delicious food, and appreciate the friendly service of the family owners. Our regular order includes chicken tikka, lasooni naan, saag paneer, chicken korma, vegetable karma, and aloo gobi, and it’s fun to try new dishes as well. The inside is a bit tired looking but we usually do takeout and to us, the food and good service matter the most! Great place if you live in N Longmont or SW Berthoud.
